Centre for Excellence in Telecom Technology & Management, the training institution of MTNL at Powai has commenced the first batch of training for foreign delegates under the Ministry of External Affair’s International Technology & Economic Cooperation (MEA’s ITEC) Programme under the joint initiative of M/s. TCIL & MTNL. The first such programme on Data Communication & IP Telephony and Mobile Technology of 5 weeks duration was inaugurated on 13^th February 2006 by Shri M.S .Rana, Executive Director, MTNL, Mumbai and Shri Rajan Sharma, Group General Manager, TCIL. A total of 18 Foreign Delegates from the developing countries like Combodia, Angola, Oman, Kenya, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Surinam are participating in the programme. The delegation will also undertake a study tour in Maharashtra.

Two more programmes on Switching, Telecom Management & Marketing of Telecom Services are stated to commence on 27^th February 2006 in which over 30 Foreign Delegates will be trained.
