Introduction                       :-

 

                      Optical Fiber Cable has been adopted by Telecom Service Providers worldwide as the core            transport for all types of telecom traffic. OF Cable which was confined to the Service Provider Core            Network is now being extended to the customer premises. Every year thousands of kms. Of  cable is            being laid, providing many opportunities to OF trained personnel. This course is designed to provide            insight into various activities related to Optical Fiber Cable installation in the Telecom Network like            planning, laying and testing of the O.F Cables. The course is based upon hands-on and theoretical            learning. Students will learn to install, terminate and test fibre-optic cables.

 

Objective                           :-

 

On completion of this course the participant will be able to -

 

                  ● Describe the basic concepts of Fiber Optic Communications.

                  ● Describe the components of fiber optic networks

                  ● Illustrate the cable types and cable specifications

                  ● Explain the OF laying process

                  ● Describe the various meters used in OFC testing

                  ● Perform hands-on testing of optical fiber

                  ● Perform hands-on splicing of optical fiber
